Reflexology
The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art.

Reflexology is a science that works with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands that correspond to all glands, organs and structures of the body.
The feet (or hands) are like mini-maps of the body's anatomy where all the internal body structures and organs are mapped or mirrored in miniature. So any internal body system can be accessed and stimulated by massaging and manipulating the corresponding area of the feet (or hands).
Reflexology involves using a specific pressure technique applied to the feet and/ or hands. By using pressure on reflex points in this way, imbalances in the body can be both detected and effectively treated through a system of zones or energy channels that link specific reflexes with specific organs or structures. This can help increase blood flow, unblock nerve impulses and enhance the body's own natural healing system.
There are many different theories that support how Reflexology works. One of which, refers to the traditional principles of Eastern Wisdom (in the form of acupressure/ acupuncture and the meridian energy system). It is said that Reflexology is closely related to acupressure / acupuncture meridians. Based on this system, it is believed, that the free flow of natural energy is vital to health. Due to stress and tension, an energy channel or meridian can become blocked, causing the harmony of the body to become imbalanced. Reflexology can help to release the blockage returning the body to its normal state of balance. Reflexologists work on both acupressure and acupuncture points during the treatment session.
Reflexology is a simple, natural, holistic, non-invasive treatment which helps the body to maintain a delicate balance between all its internal systems, through the use of human therapeutic touch. It can be used to support vitality and well-being.
Reflexology is now widely used in hospitals for pain management and stress relief.
As a Reflexologist I am currently a member of the AoR (Association of Reflexologists) and registered with the CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council). By choosing a Reflexologist registered with the CNHC you can be confident that they are properly trained, qualified and insured.
